 About Mrs. Limbert

I am a passionate and dedicated art teacher and artist. I hope to inspire my students to develop their own personal voice within their work while developing confidence through experimentation and exploration of new media.

More about my artwork:

My work evolves from my imagination as I develop each painting. These paintings speak to the unknowable and unpredictable nature of life, and express the complexities of our relationships with friends, family, nature, and especially within our understanding of ourselves.

My art explores themes of childhood and my experiences growing up surrounded by forests and lakes in northern Indiana, where I developed a love of plants and animals and a desire to create work that evokes the missteps and magic of childhood.

Besides my 2014 narrative installation at Trifecta Gallery, I was selected as a Zap 7 artist(2015), exhibited at the legislative gallery, LXS, in Carson City (2015), I have had three solo shows at Blackbird Studios in Las Vegas. I continue to participate in group shows, and held an artist residency at P3 Studios at the Cosmopolitan Resort in Las Vegas (2013). My window installation for The Contemporary Arts Center's East Side Project (2012) combined hand-cut vintage china with paintings of animals and wood silhouettes of young girls in the style of a paper doll diorama. I was interviewed about this installation on Nevada Public Radio and featured in local magazine articles.

I earned a BA in Fine Arts and a Masters degree in Art Education at Portland State University. I currently teach high school and college art courses in Las Vegas.
